Sec. 58-66. Obedience to traffic signs and signals; deliberately avoiding traffic-control

devices prohibited.

(a)

No person shall drive a vehicle upon or across public or private through

driveways, curb cuts, or otherwise for the purpose of proceeding from any street to an

intersecting street with the intent of avoiding traffic signs or signals erected or installed for

vehicular traffic control.

(1)

It shall be unlawful to operate a motor vehicle in such a manner as to avoid or

attempt to avoid an official traffic-control device by driving across a sidewalk, through a

parking lot, or across any other private property.

(2)

Violation of this subsection (b) shall constitute an infraction punishable by a

penalty of $86.00 per violation for cost of court.

Sec. 58-67. Quiet zone.

Whenever authorized signs are placed, erected, or installed indicating a zone of quiet, no

person operating a motor vehicle within any such zone shall sound the horn, or other warning

device of the vehicle, except in an emergency.

Sec. 58-68. Play streets.

Whenever authorized signs are placed, erected, or installed indicating any street, or part

thereof, as a play street, no person shall drive a vehicle upon any such street, or part thereof,

except drivers of vehicles having business or whose residences are within such closed area, and

then such drivers shall exercise the greatest care in driving upon the street, or part thereof.
