Tungsten carbide burr (rotor cutter) DIN 8032/8033
Applications recommendations:
• Enables high turning speeds. Please note our
turning/cutting speed recommendations. With stationary or countersunk
jobs with 360°-wrap this burr can be exceptionally used at speeds below
3000 min
-1
.
• Only use with rigid clamping systems/drives; tool beat and rattle leads
to premature wear.
• The contact surface of the burr to the workpiece should not exceed one
third of the circumference during processing. An excessively large wrap
angle of > 1/3 leads to restless milling behaviour. This leads to tooth
breakage.
• For poor heat conductors such as stain-
less steel, titanium alloys etc. we recom-
mend a significant reduction in turning
speed to avoid damaging the tool. Blue
staining to the shank and tool should be avoided.
• For low stock removal (deburring, chamfering, light surface treatment),
the speed can be significantly increased.
• For heavily lubricating materials it is sensible to use lubricants (grease,
petroleum, chalk or other) to prevent the tooth system clogging.
Carbide burrs can, in principle, be reground. Regrinding of small and
miniature burrs is not advisable for reasons of cost.
