Using indexing insert drills (short bore) achieves a multiplicity of

productivity and cost savings with HSS spiral bores. The optimum

choice of carbide together with the right geometry and feed rate

guarantees controlled chip formation.

Requirements for good bore results as follows:

• stable clamping

• short overhangs, compact drill chuck

• correct tool positioning for machine spindle

• Use of cooling oil or compressed air at sufficient pressure

(chip removal)

• Warning

With drill withdrawal a disc drops.

Risk of accident with rotating workpieces.

Please take precautions!

Application

• Universally applicable WP drill for use on lathes,

drills and milling centres.

• Can be used as a stationary and rotating tool,

both horizontally and vertically

• cylindrical shank with face according to ISO 9766

• Bore depths up to 3 x D should not be exceeded

• with concave/oblique surfaces the feed rate

should be reduced by ca. 30–50 %.

Advantages

• Drilling with indexable inserts - economic production of bores or

through-holes and blind holes

• Very good machining performance with high cutting speeds

and feed rates

• No running off of the bore axle

• direction precise dirlling
