Mission Statement
To provide a welcoming, safe,
caring, and Christ-centered
environment to meet the
spiritual, physical, emotional
and social needs of children
and their families in crisis.
History
Founded in 1961 by Richard
and Mary McHenry, Joy Ranch
has been home to over 5000
children. Located in the Blue
Ridge mountains, Joy Ranch
includes ranch-style cottages,
an administration building,
gym, barns, pastures, and
sport fields on 60 acres. A
non-denominational Christian
ministry, Joy Ranch is faith driven
and donor dependent.
Ministry
Joy Ranch is a residential home
serving children ages 5 - 21 in
crisis situations due to the death,
imprisonment, or incapacity of
parents, or other necessitating
circumstances. Dedicated
house parents provide a family
atmosphere where love gives life
and makes a lasting difference.
Joy Ranch is a 501(c)(3) Non-
Profit. Your gifts are tax
deductible. We accept all major
credit cards via on-line giving,
with the opportunity to
set up recurring gifts.

www.joyranch.orgDear Joy Ranch Family,
With God’s help and your support, over the next 24 to 30
months, we intend to raise an additional $300,000 dollars (over
and above general giving) in order to renovate and update
our Joy Ranch facilities, as well as prep them for additional
outreach to children and families.
After 50 plus years of wear and tear from over 5,000 children,
the facilities need a great deal of work and restoration.
Necessary and vital repairs are important to sustain the cottages, buildings, and land
in order to continue another 50 years of ministry to children and families.
This packet is provided to inform you and others of the needed projects required
to facilitate effective outreach to children needing residential ministry, as well as
reaching other at-risk youth in our region through sports, mentoring, and camps.
Coupled with a vision for reaching more children and families, who are vulnerable,
broken, hurting, and lost, we are preparing for a harvest of souls that will connect
with Joy Ranch ministries, and then find their way into our local church partnerships
for long-term nurturing and discipleship.
As you venture through the following pages, you will be asking yourselves, “As a
partner and supporter of Joy Ranch, how can I get involved to make this vision and
these projects a reality?”
