Sittings o f High Court on Circuit.

Secretary stated that the Bar Council had

been invited to join with the Society in making

representations to the judges that there should be

equal intervals o f six months between the sittings

of the High Court hearing Circuit appeals twice

in each year but that no representations had yet

been made as the views o f the general body o f the

Bar had not been ascertained.

Small Dwellings (Acquisition) Acts. Costs.

Council considered and adopted with certain

amendments a report from a Committee on the

subject o f a uniform scale o f mortgagees costs in

the case o f loans under the Small Dwellings Acts

and by building societies, insurance companies

and other concerns and it was decided that the

report should be circulated to the solicitors in­

terested with a view to discussion at the ordinary

general meeting o f the Society in May.

Costs under the Labourers’ Acts.

Council considered a report from a Committee

on the subject o f the negotiations with the Depart­

ment of Local Government on the subject of

increases in the scale costs and it was decided to

defer further consideration until the opinion of

a costs drawer has been obtained.

Wholetime solicitors to local authorities.

epresentatives

from the Council were received

by a sub-Committee o f the county managers,

following a discussion with the Minister for Local

Government. Further consideration was deferred
