The following was among the business trans
acted :—
Costs o f conveyancing. Registered Land

deputation from the Council to the Land
Registration Rules’ Committee reported that two
meetings of the Committee had been held to
consider the Society’s application for increases in
the costs. The principal points were :—
(a)
that the commission scale fee should be a
flat rate o f 4% on sales and transfers where
there is a full investigation o f title leading
. to the discharge o f the equity note ;
(
b
) that the commission scale fee in cases where
there is no investigation of title outside the
register should be a flat rate o f 3% ;
(c)
that the costs o f a voluntary transfer or
settlement should be an amount equal to the
rateable valuation o f the property.

d)
that the item charges should be increased by
55% over pre-war in substitution for the
increase o f 33^% now in operation;

) that Rule 1 1 , Schedule, Part 1 S.R.G.O., 1884
should be rescinded in its application to
registered land;
