Provide support to the woman in childbed and her partner during a delivery. In addition, provide
assistance to the midwife and/or obstetrician by organising and passing materials and resources.
Before having this work process evaluated, you must demonstrate that you are competent to carry
out parturition assistance.
Write a report about the assistance you have provided to the woman in childbed and her partner
and the assistance you have provided to the midwife and/or obstetrician during a delivery.
Include the following components in the report:
the course of the birth
observation data of the new mother and partner during the birth
the care, assistance (support), information and advice provided to the midwife
whether the woman giving birth and her partner are satisfied about the care provided
the way in which you have provided assistance to the midwife and/or obstetrician
the prescribed working procedures that apply during the execution of a parturition
assistance and support to a woman giving birth and her partner
any details or unforeseen situations during the parturition.
The parturition assistance has been carried out in a professional manner and in accordance with
applicable protocols and laws and legislation as a result of which the proper deployment of
materials and resources is guaranteed.
A fully completed assessment form substantiated by the examiner
A report of the assistance you provided to the woman giving birth and her partner and the
assistance you have provided to the midwife and/or obstetrician during the birth
