Second Project:
Cops and Bobbers
Sporting Chance Award, cont.
First Project:
High School Trap Teams
Wisconsin has over 6,000 kid trap shooters. The
Sporting Chance program allowed Midwestern
Shooters to purchase 15 range guns. The store
staff and went to their practices and the kids got
the opportunity to shoot and try all the different
types of target guns. This was a great way to show
kids and their parents the difference between a
field gun and a target gun to help them become
successful. It was such a great success the store
has scheduled 15 different shoots this summer
using these new range guns. Beretta, SKB and
Federal offered special pricing to help make this
happen.
Cops and Bobbers is put on by the Hustisford Rod and Gun Club. Within this
program, they match one child up with a local police officer to fish for the day.
Midwestern Shooters Supply purchased poles for each of the participants. Shi-
mano and Okuma matched the Sporting Chance funds one for one.
Third Project:
State Trap Range
MEC Reloading played a huge roll in their biggest
Sporting Chance projects. The Wisconsin state trap
range in Rome was looking to build a five-stand sporting
clay range. Through MEC Reloading and the Sporting
Chance proceeds, Midwestern Shooters Supply was
able to donate the traps that they needed to complete
the project. This will not only benefit the high school trap
kids but let the clubs raise money to keep running. MEC
Reloading gave over $8,000.00 in discounts to the
project.
