Bültmann, Germany, is a manufacturer
of special machines for semi-finished
products, with a range that includes
drawing centres (tube, rod and section),
tube pointing equipment, straightening
machines (tube, rod and section), and other
production facilities.
The Bültmann automatic production line
for steel tubes enables manufacture of 4m
long automotive tube every two seconds.
The operation of the line is carried out by
three persons only.
The Bültmann tube production line
comprises automatic tube separation
(also suitable for curved tubes), pointing
equipment, quadruple tube drawing
machine with maximum 90m/min drawing
speed (with toothed rack drive), and a
10-roll tube straightening machine with a
maximum 200m/min return speed.
The production line also includes sawing
equipment with four saws, double
chamfering equipment, visual tube testing,
eddy current testing equipment, and tube
bundling and strapping equipment.

DWT has been the license manufacturer of
portable pipe bevelling machines under the
brand name Babcock for over six years.
This product range was originally developed
by boiler manufacturer Babcock based on
the onsite knowledge of its workers.
Designed to improve the welding process,
the rugged and compact machines have
a high metal removal rate and are easy
to handle. Especially designed for boiler
walls, DWT offers very special applications
for onsite operations with flexible and low
weight machines.
In practice it has been proven that weld
preparation of tube ends considerably
influences the quality of the welding
junction. For tube welding applications with
a high wall-thickness and for orbital welding
technology, the welding engineer currently
requires a perfect and effective mechanised
weld preparation.
The machines have a high working speed
and quick readiness to facilitate economic
manufacture. With the complete product
range tube diameters of 12mm to 711mm
ID can be machined onsite.
