Gerard F. Griffin
Gerard F. Griffin was educated at Belvedere College and University
College, Dublin, qualifying in 1978. He has worked as an Assistant
Solicitor in Dublin and has his own firm in Dublin since 1982. He was
co-opted onto the Society's Litigation Committee in 1981 and has been
Chairman of the Committee since 1983. He has been a member of
Council since 1982 and is also a member of Council of the Dublin
Solicitors' Bar Association. He is a regular contributor to the Law
Society's
Gazette
with articles on Criminal Law.
John F. Buckley
John F. Buckley was educated at C.B.S. Synge Street and University
College, Dublin, where he took the Degrees of B.A. and LL.B. He was
admitted a Solicitor in 1956. He was Chairman of the Society of Young
Solicitors from 1967 to 1969, and President of the Dublin Solicitors' Bar
Association in 1978/79. He was elected to the Council of the Society in
1973, and has served as Chairman of the Education Committee and of
the Public Relations Committee from 1980 to 1983. He
is
Chairman of
the Division on Legal Education and Continuing Legal Education of the
General Practice Section of the International Bar Association and a
member of the Council of the Section. He is a partner in the firm of
Hickey, Beauchamp, Kirwan, & O'Reilly, Solicitors, Dublin.
Laurence K. Shields
Laurence K. Shields is a partner in the firm of Dockrell, Shields &
Farrell, Solicitors, Dublin. He was educated at St. Michael's College
and Clongowes Wo od College. He graduated from U CD in 1970 and
was admitted a Solicitor in 1972. He is a former auditor of the Solicitors'
Apprentices Debating Society and a former lecturer and examiner in
Company Law and Partnership for the Society. He was President of the
Dublin Solicitors' Bar Association in 1983/84. He was elected to the
Council in 1978 and was Chairman of the Company Law Committee.
He is presently Chairman of the Education and Education Advisory
Committees and the Sub-Committee on Professional Indemnity
Insurance.
