hen they are not being Sol3 Mio,
brothers Pene and Amitai Pati,
and cousin Moses Mackay are hard
work following their own opera careers.
So when it came to recording their first live
music DVD, Amitai admits they were a little
bit out of practice.
“The show at the Michael Fowler Centre
was pretty much all put together before we
got back to New Zealand,” he tells

Chart-topping sensations SOL3 Mio return with their first live DVD, and a host
of other Christmas goodies. AMITAI PATI talks to John Ferguson about what
has been a hugely successful year for the pop opera trio.
the eve of their performance at last month’s
New Zealand Music Awards. “We had just
landed back in New Zealand and everyone
was feeling a bit tired and jet-lagged.We got
straight into rehearsals and it was really tough
because we hadn’t been singing as a group
for a long time. But after a few beers, things
start to run smoothly again!”
And here is certainly no sign of rustiness
on the just-released
Ladies And Gentleman…
Sol3 Mio Live In Concert,
which captures
the warmth and magic of the trio’s hugely
popular live shows.
The DVD features 22 of Sol3 Mio’s most
