• We need a ‘’gold standard’’ – otherwise all
standards are liable to sacrifice
• It will of necessity be generic – to gain consensus
and survive technology change
• It will be a compromise – too onerous for some,
too lax for others
• And if it aims to cover cradle to grave E/E/PES
engineering it will NOT be short !
