Thizbe Wenger

is a clinical educator in speech

pathology at Hunter New England Area Health Service based in

Newcastle, Australia.

Annemarie Laurence

is a clinical educator

and co-ordinator of the Speech Pathology in Schools (SPINs)

program at the University of Newcastle, Australia and

Gwendalyn

Webb

is a lecturer and currently co-ordinating the International

Stream in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology (hons) program at the

University of Newcastle, Australia. All authors have supervised

students completing clinical placements in Vietnam and/or Fiji and

undertaken volunteer work supporting the development of speech

therapy in Viet Nam.
