D ear Fellow-Students,
The eleventh issue of the ALCALAis the result of the combined efforts of the
1966 staff. Our dream was to assemble, not a calendar of events, but a memory
book that would recall to all of us the anticipation, the joy, the depressions, and
the successes that mark a college year.
To recall the memories we chose the theme of love, a virtue that is radiated from
the members of our devoted Society of the Sacred Heart, and from our Faculty,
and will strengthen our college friendships for life. The spirit and charm of our
college are represented in the pictures. The care that went into the creation of
the annual is never known to the student. The staff has worked since June of
1965, and 1ow e each member deep gratitude for her work and a loving thanks
for the joy of such close acquaintance.
I am unable to express a worthy tribute to our moderator, Mother Bremner,
whose abundance of patience and understanding for all my plans, ability to
create order out of chaos, and availability when needed, helped to make this
yearbook a reality. My task is over and I am sincerely grateful for the honor of
being editor. The experience of creating a publication that bears our college
name is a joy and delight that will long live in my memories.
On behalf of the staff I would like to present this ALCALA to our graduating
class of 1966 with love.
