PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of Greensboro's Connections 2025 Comprehensive Plan identified High
Point Road and West Lee Street as reinvestment corridors. Reinvestment
corridors are defined by the plan as “older commercial corridors that would
benefit from significant public and private investment to enhance their economic
viability and strengthen adjacent neighborhoods.” This project consists of the
Phase I Corridor Plan for the section of High Point Road / West Lee Street that
stretches I-40 and Chapman St. The streetscape project will focus on improving
the visual appeal, enhancing pedestrian, bicycle and transit mobility and safety
while preserving the existing capacity for motorists.
