Testing a Backflow Assembly

• Backflow assemblies are to be tested by City of Raleigh employees who have completed the Backflow Certification School.

• • Test the assembly according to Certification School Training and record values on test report. (Blank test report can be found on server in Cross Connection folder in Documents File) • All test sheets should be turned in to the AT, including failed tests. This will provide information that could be very important when it comes to billable charges. • If the assembly needs to be repaired, complete the attached Billable Charges Form. Completed Billable Charges Form will be submitted to Hydrant Program’s AT. • Repair parts are obtained from the warehouse using the inventory program code of 634 and truck number: HYDX. See hydrant build parts chart for part numbers • Before placing operable hydrant meter rental unit on cart, verify in TCE all backflow and meter information is correct.
