Пермская галерея и Пермский музей XXI века находятся на рассто- янии одного километра друг от друга – по проекту предполагается ин- тегрировать их в единый комплекс, для чего необходимо создать удоб- ную систему коммуникации. Основная функция каждого музея заключается в демонстрации, хранении и обработке произведений искусства. Что касается пов- седневной деятельности музея, он должен располагать соответству- ющими службами для проведения крупномасштабных и комплекс- ных выставок, что требует эффективной и слаженной работы на всех уровнях. Сосредоточение служб доставки, хранения экспонатов и мас- терских в подвале, на один уровень ниже входа, позволяет не афиши- ровать эти службы. В соответствии с предложением выставочные залы будут обладать подвижной конструкцией, однако доступ в них будет четко определен. Залы современного искусства, временных выставок и основной экспо- зиции расположены соответственно на первом, втором и третьем эта- жах. Администрация и служба реставрации располагаются на верхнем этаже музея. Конструкция здания Пермского музея представляет собой каркас с вытянутыми к периметру внутренними перегородками. Внешний кар- кас представляет собой железобетонную оболочку толщиной 400мм, что позволяет нивелировать температурные колебания.

The Perm Art Gallery and the Perm Museum of XXI Century are located at the distance of one kilometer from each other. The design offers to integrate them into one unique complex, which requires the creation of a convenient system of commu- nications. The basic functions of any museum include demonstration, storage and handling of works of art. As regards the organiza- tion of the every-day work of a museum, it is necessary to bear in mind that it should have the appropriate services for holding of different large-scale and complex exhibitions, which demand effective and harmonious work of the personnel at all the lev- els. Location of the delivery services, museum repositories, stu- dios and workshops in the basement of the building, i.e. one level lower than the main entrance, allows to not attract atten- tion to these services. According to the author’s offer the showrooms will have a mobile design, however access to them will be distinctly out- lined. The halls of the Modern Art, the showrooms for the tem- porary and permanent exhibitions will be located on the first, the second and the third floors correspondingly. The adminis- tration and the restoration services will be placed on the top floor of the museum. The structure of the Perm Museum building looks like a frame with the internal partitions extended along the perimeter. The external frame consists of a rigid ferroconcrete shell with the thickness of 400 mm, which allows to neutralize the tempera- ture fluctuations typical to the Permski Krai territory.
