Территория нового музея трактуется как открытый парк-терраса, часть зеленого пояса речного берега. Строящийся город не должен вторгаться в зону реки и уплотняться, новый музей станет частью ис- кусственной топографии природы. Поэтому впечатляющая плоскость террасы с новыми высадками деревьев является центральным городс- ким монументом, ядром всего проекта. Отдельные части структуры как бы парят над парком. Крылья зда- ния переплетаются, создавая большое число возможностей переме- щения и череду перетекающих пространств. Только среднее крыло имеет наклон к земле, к уровню входа и обслуживающих помещений. Экспозиционные пространства и пространства перемещения посети- телей одинаковы по массе и нейтральны: заданная схема движения внутри музея позволяет естественно освоить топографию выставоч- ного пространства, в котором отсутствует четкое разделение на «зал» и «фойе». Внешние объемы опираются всего на несколько точек, поэтому конструктивно музей решен как большепролетная мостовая конструк- ция с консолями. Пролет и консоли поддерживаются U-образными опорами из предварительно напряженного бетона.

The territory of the new Museum is treated as open ter- raced park, a part of the riverside green belt. The extending city should not interfere the zone of the riverside and should not penetrate through the park boundaries. On the contrary the new Museum should become a part of the artificial natu- ral topography. Therefore the nucleus of the design composi- tion is an impressive plain of the natural terrace with the newly planted trees. Separate parts of the building structure seem to soar over the park. The wings of the building are interwoven, creating the great number of opportunities to move and framing the succes- sion of flowing spaces. The middle wing has an inclination to the ground, to the level of the main entrance and the service rooms. The showrooms and the hallways, along which the visi- tors walk, are equally massive and neutral. Inside the Museum the offered routing in a natural way allows to study the topog- raphy of the exhibition space, in which there is no clear distinc- tion between the «showrooms» and the «foyers». The external volumes are supported in several points, there- fore structurally the museum is designed as a wide-span bridge with consoles. The flight and the consoles rest on the U-shape supports made of pre-stressed concrete.
