Радуга, метафора, ставшая основой композиции музея, одним кон- цом опирается на берег, другим уходит в реку. Коммуникационная труба как бы соединяет три стихии: воздух, воду и землю. Остров, из которого вырастает один из концов «радуги», предназначен для про- ведения художественных инсталляций и выставок. Его сложная в пла- не конфигурация с пирсами и отдельными островками повторяет ри- сунок пермского звериного стиля. Остров учитывает и дополняет кон- цепцию проекта «Kama Gate». Здание музея, в объеме, представляет собой дугу, стоящую одним концом на берегу, другим – на устраиваемом острове. С каждого кон- ца дуги ( а они связаны между собой лифтами и лестницами), предус- мотрен вход для посетителей. Планировкой здания предусмотрено пе- редвижение посетителей от одного входа к другому, расположенных на противоположных концах дуги, через все залы музея. Расположе- ние лестниц и лифтов также предполагает избирательное посещение залов, не обязывающее посетителей проходить через все здание. На берегу, на площадке, отведенной под строительство, расположен сти- лобат с одним подземным и одним надземным этажом. В верхней точке изгиба «радуги», на кровле, устраивается смотро- вая площадка, которая предусматривает возможность ее использова- ния как вертолетной площадки (швартовки дирижаблей).

One end of the rainbow rests on the bank, while the other goes to the river. This communication pipe seems to connect three elements: air, water and earth. The island, out of which one of the «rainbow ends» «grows», may be used for art installations and exhibitions. Its complex con- figuration with the piers and separate islets repeats the figures of the so-called «Perm animal style». The island takes into ac- count and supplements the concept of the «Kama Gate» de- sign. The volume of the Museum building represents an arch, one end of which is on the river bank and the other on an island. In each end of the arch there are entrances for visitors. The inside levels are connected with each other by the elevators and the stairwells. The lay-out of a building stipulates that the visitors will walk around all the museum halls, going from one entrance to the other, located on the opposite side of the arch,. The lo- cation of stairwells and elevators also supposes selective visits to the halls without the necessity to go through all the rooms of the building. On the river bank, on the site allocated for the construction, there is also a stylobate with one underground and one overground floor. In the top point of the «rainbow» curvature, on the roof there is a scenic view point, which also provides an opportunity of its use as a helicopter landing deck (or a tie-down point for airships).
