Second Boats on Party Weekends Based on a number of member complaints and a specific incident over the Memorial Day weekend involving a member’s second boat in the harbor, the board rehashed the club policy regarding having a second boat in the harbor during party weekends. After hearing suggestions on this issue from all present, the board determined that this issue has been adequately addressed and is explained in the NCYC General Club Policy, under the section titled Island Wells . No additional verbiage needs to be incorporated; however, it is up to the weekday and weekend managers to enforce the policy.

NEW BUSINESS

Mainland Dumpster Issue Over the Memorial Day weekend, the parking lot dumpster was significantly overflowing with trash. Tom Altobelli, weekend OD, felt a lot of it was there from the previous week. As a result, the club received a warning (along with pictures of the mess) from Waste Management stating they will not provide service to us if this continues. Commodore Pagel asked do we change companies? Or pickup days? Tom Suggested on the big weekends, order a second dumpster and have the club event pay for it. Brian Fringer has a contact at WM and would like to discuss our situation with them before addition actions will be taken. Issue was tabled for future discussion. Sirius/XM update Subscription expired. Last year one of our members shared their subscription with the club. For an initial cost of about $110 we can install an iPad on the wall and use a Wi-Fi service like Pandora and pay no subscription fees. Scott Greenfelder stated we have a few options: re-up XM radio or use Pandora. Scott thinks we can piggyback on his Sirius subscription. Motion to do this made by P/C Carroll, seconded by Scott Greenfelder. Motion Carried . Member of the Month Bill Calihan made a motion to nominate the Bauer’s and Huntley’s and Winker’s for heading up the steer roast. Seconded by Tom Altobelli. Motion Carried Good of the Order P/C Carroll donated a Shock Alert. This is a device that can detect electrical current by placing it in the harbor water. Electrical current present in the water presents a serious risk incapacitating one’s muscles which can lead to drowning. How do we store safely? Need to mark with NCYC. Will keep behind bar. A Fanout is to be sent informing the membership of this plan. P/C Bill Hendricks provided an added suggestion to the Wi-Fi system update. Use Bluetooth connection via iPad to play music. Internet steaming. Could also pick up FM stations. He also commented that he is just about done with the newWi-Fi system. Was a problem during opening weekend with access point from a tripped GFI on the patio lamp post. Could not log on due to too many IP addresses trying at the same time. Has been changed. Increased allowable IP address we can hold.
