AUGUST 2018 BEACON

We had a great turnout for the “Float Down” on the weekend of July 21st. Weather was a little suspect, but the rain held off long enough for all of us to float down the Sni Bora canal. Many thanks to P/C John and Shelly Dickson and Bob and Lori Carnaghi for putting this event together. I also want to thank our members who donated the use of their Center Console Boats, P/C John Dickson, Brian Malik, P/C Bill Hendricks and Mark Busch. A great time was had by all who attended. Our Fleet Captains Ken Lipowski and Julie Delauter did an excellent job setting us up at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club on the weekend of July 28th. They had great help from Glenn and Sheila Nixon, which made for a wonderful and fun time. We have one more local rendezvous at Club Island the weekend of August 10th. If you haven’t had a chance to attend one of our 2018 Rendezvous, please attend this one. There are still some members that have not picked up their new Roster and membership cards. Just ask the Bartender on duty to give you your Roster Package. Please make sure you do this soon so we can save on postage by not having to mail them to you. Also, please make sure you fly your NCYC Burgee so we can identify that you are a member of the Club. This makes it easier on the OD. Also, please remember to take you own trash back with you on your boat. We have been made aware of members not adhering to this policy. Please come out and enjoy your club and your fellow member friends. It is already August, make sure you come out and enjoy the rest of the summer at NCYC.
