Out of the Shadows is set a little while after the events of the 2014 TMNT film, during which time the turtles have returned to their sewer dwelling with Splinter. Having captured Shredder with the help of April and her cameraman, all seems well, until the footclan attempt to break him out of police custody. Shredder has the help of comedic “errand boys” Bebop and Rocksteady, who assist in blowing stuff up and cracking mediocre jokes. There’s also an enhanced super-purple serum and an alien named Krang. Longtime fans of the renaissance

Since we last caught up with Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne), another bun has popped into the oven. This has led to some serious life decisions for the pair – most notably to sell up their home and shuffle off to the kiddie-friendly burbs. Everything looks on track and they have a buyer, but a 30-day cooling off period, and the arrival within this time of wild sorority Kappa Nu next door, leads Mac and Kelly to resort to desperate measures. How desperate? They call in an expert – former nemesis Teddy (Zac Efron), who initially

reptiles will appreciate the smaller things; the horn on the turtles’ truck is the original theme song, and there’s a cute Michael Bay Transformers cameo that you can’t miss. What the film lacks in plot it makes up for in fan-service. AK

sides with the Kappa Nu sisters, until they turn on him. They hatch some devious schemes, but the girls aren’t so easily moved. As wonderfully dumb as the original, the addition of Chloë Grace Moretz rocks, but once again it's the loveably dumb dude-bro Teddy who steals the show. AF

Love when you least expect it ME BEFORE YOU

Amityville in England THE CONJURING 2

Bubbly Louisa Clark ( GoT 's Emilia Clarke) loves her job at The Butter Bun café, so when she’s laid off she’s hit somewhat for six. She eventually lands a gig caring for disabled banker Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), who was left paralysed following a motorcycle accident some two years prior. His iciness and Louisa’s effervescence don’t exactly gel initially, but she wears him down and the two become firm friends. There may be more feelings there, but Louisa has a rather uncaring boyfriend to think about. Will they? Won’t they? Will he? Will she?!

James Wan’s 2013 supernatural shocker became one of the highest grossing horror movies of all time, and this equally successful sequel reunites us with paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) for another “true” tale from their files – the much documented case of the Enfield Poltergeist, which made headlines in London in 1977. Single mum Peggy Hodgson (Francis O’Connor) and her four children live in a rundown council house in North London that’s seemingly inhabited by the ghost of a former resident. Meanwhile

It’s complicated, not least of all by a pact Will previously made with his parents. With no Nicholas Sparks movie released in the last few minutes, Me Before You – based on Jojo Moyes’ best-selling novel of the same name – fills the tear-jerking romantic drama space admirably. AF

Stateside, the Warrens have just wrapped up the Amityville case and Lorraine is being haunted by a demonic nun (that looks like Marilyn Manson) and premonitions of her husband’s death. Fans of the original can expect all the requisite jump scares and malevolent entities. SH
