1974 THEN & NOW: CELEBRATING 45 YEARS OF THE BRADLEY FREE CLINIC FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2019 | 6:30 PM THE HOTEL ROANOKE

For 45 years, the Bradley Free Clinic has provided free healthcare to the Roanoke Valley’s low-income uninsured with medical, mental health, dental, and pharmacy services. The amazing team of volunteer healthcare professionals, combined with the generosity of faithful donors, enables the Clinic to meet the healthcare needs of those who lack the resources. The Clinic is expanding and developing new programs to better meet the changing needs of the patients and the community with a Wellness Advocate Program, Diabetes Management, Access to Dental Days, and the RV HOPE Initiative. These programs offer the patients and the community support and education for diet and exercise, diabetic education, better access to dental care, and resources for those with substance use disorders.

Funding for these programs continues to come from donations in the community and fundraising events like Docs Rock Fashion.

Emcee Bios & Thank You

Kianna Price, a graduate of University of Richmond, is the new TV Host for Living Local on WFXR-Fox. Prior to her position at WFXR, she was the Program Director and On-Air Radio Personality for The Vibe for more than 10 years. For years Kianna was the TV host for Round Roanoke on

Cox Cable and Your Hometown Happenings on WDBJ7. Kianna was recently elected to serve on the Carilion Medical Center Board and is a founding member of the Urban Professional League (UPL). Kianna is proud to work and serve in her hometown while raising her two children with her husband Donnie.

You may recognize Larry Bly’s voice from his radio days at WROV, where he became fairly well known and somewhat well respected as a wacky radio guy. Or you may recognize Larry’s face from his television adventures as co-host of one of America’s longest-running cooking shows, Cookin’ Cheap on Blue Ridge Public Television.

Although Virginia has consistently been home, Larry’s professional career has taken him far outside the Commonwealth. From Detroit to North Korea, Larry’s radio jockey prowess has delighted listeners around the world. Today, Larry is host of Exceptional Entertaining, a how-to program designed to teach the art of entertaining on Cox Communications. He also writes a column called Dining Out and Cookin’ In for Roanoke.com. Larry is also the Co-founder of the System 4 Advertising Agency, one of Southern Virginia’s largest agencies.

Fund a need: just what the doctor ordered

Last year Docs Rock Fashion helped put a new roof over our heads. This year, we need your support to upgrade our pharmacy, which dispensed more than 27,000 medications last year. New walls, doors, shelving, and floors will improve our security and efficiency, giving us better work space to serve our ever-increasing volume of patients and their vital pharmaceutical needs. In early 2018, a young woman came to the Bradley Free Clinic in need of assistance changing the dressings from her recent coronary artery bypass graft. In one year, our pharmacy has provided her with almost $7,000 worth of medications for her heart disease and diabetes, keeping her healthy and out of the ER. We need your help now, more than ever, to ensure that we can continue to provide care to patients just like this one. Without our clinic’s pharmacy, this patient might not be alive today.
