The 1920s era was called the Roaring Twenties. It was a very exciting decade. It started right after World War l.

There were a lot of new products made in the 1920s. They were made in factories. People bought them in stores.

3 Many people had a Model T car in the 1920s. The Model T cars were made by Henry Ford’s company.

The Roaring Twenties was also an exciting time for women. Women could vote.

Many women dressed in a new style. They were called flappers. Flappers wore short dresses. They had short hair. They wore headbands and feathers in their hair.

Making and selling alcohol was illegal during the Roaring Twenties. This was called Prohibition. Many people broke this law.

Music and dancing were popular during the Roaring Twenties. The Charleston was a new dance.

Jazz music was popular. Louie Armstrong was a famous jazz musician. He played the trumpet.

Baseball was a popular sport in the 1920s. People liked to watch baseball games.

10 Babe Ruth was a famous baseball player. He hit 714 home runs!

There were famous entertainers in the Roaring Twenties. Mae West was a very famous movie star.

Harlem, NY was an exciting place for African Americans in the 1920s. It was a time when many people played jazz music, wrote books, painted, and had better jobs.

13 The Roaring Twenties ended in 1929 when the Great Depression started. The Depression was a difficult time for most people.
