RCBS SHOW GUIDE 2019

Working together with students from BCA (Berkshire College of Agriculture)

Over the last few years, The Newbury and District Agricultural Society have built a strong relationship with BCA, providing valuable industry experience for their students on their journeys into their chosen professions. Over the show weekend we offer a range of different positions allowing every student the opportunity to gain an insight into the field in which they’re interested in working. Many of their Equine Studies and Animal Management students take on stewarding roles in the Livestock and Horse sections, whereas Media Production and Performing Arts students have the opportunity to work closely with the Communications Department, taking on photography tasks and interviewing exhibitors and competitors. BCA is a land-based specialist college based in Maidenhead with a stunning 400-acres campus paired with modern learning facilities. It was formed back in 1949 as the Berkshire Institute of Agriculture and was originally built to provide a training centre for agricultural workers. It has since expanded to offer subjects such as Art & Design, Public Services and Early Years to compliment the land-based provisions for which it’s perhaps better known. If you’re interested in a career in agriculture and want to find out more about how to get there, visit the BCA team at their stand, located in the Food and Farming Zone
