DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN (D.O.)

The Rías Baixas stretches across the territory of A Coruña, the Atlantic Ocean and Pontevedra (frontier with Portugal). This wine is mostly white, predominantly using the “Albariño” grape. Wine made with traditional customs (vine training, small terrains, harvesting by hand) and innovative technological advances. The Rías Baixas Wine Route extends through a territory filled with small seaside towns, old pilgrims’ ways, country manors and monasteries. Additionally, the wine making tradition has more than 900 years of history and the D.O itself more than 30 years. Delight yourself with a land of sailors, where seafaring culture manifests; Cambados, A Guarda, A Lanzada and the Carril are lovely places to start.

This winery surrounded by unique sightseeing and environment, focuses the attention on wine tasting and teaching how to appreciate wine through the senses. Advanced-reservation required.

Almost 2 millenia old, it is thought to be modeled after the Lighthouse of Alexandria, close to 190 ft high and with an in-house museum, you could buy a ticket and climb to the top. It is the world’s oldest functional lighthouse.

TERRAS GAUDA (PONTEVEDRA)

A pilgrimage welcoming thousands of visitors from different parts of the world, the camino is for some a trek filled with magic and for many people a life changing experience. It can be done in sections or entirely (620 miles), using different methods (cycling, walking, etc.), and different routes (9 routes).

The fierce green of Galicia is present in the hills and valleys of this winery; the gorgeous wine, impressive buildings and the informative guides will satisfy the expectation of visitors.

CIES ISLANDS - VIGO

DON OLEGARIO ( PONTEVEDRA)

Cies is an idyllic destination where the land- scape and nature on the island will surprise and satisfy everyone. Snorkeling, sightseeing and hiking are just a few of the activities to do on the island. Visitors depart from Vigo or Baiona by ferry and booking to visit the island is nec- essary.

This small winery is a family-run business that can offer a personalized tour in the area, teach- ing about wine tasting, their exquisite wine and offering “tapas” during the visit. It is well-suited for small groups.

PAZO BAION (A CORUÑA)

Visitors get to know about the production and details of the wine. Stunning infrastructure, beautiful vineyard, accompanied with delicious wine tasting and knowledgeable guides can give a lovely time to visitors.

These restaurants are worth a visit because they offer the best of technical abilities, ingredients and facilities. These are the most praised; Casa Marcelo and Retiro da Costiña in A Coruña, while Pepe Vieira Camiño da Serpe and Solla in Pontevedra. Others options are available and the quality is excellent as well.

The Rioja Alta Wine Route is Rioja wine-producing area par excellence. It is here, that the region’s wine culture was mainly developed and where its most prestigious wines come from. Rioja Alavesa set in the southwestern provinces of the D.O. It contains some municipalities which still conserve the charm of the original medieval towns. Rioja Baja is located in the geographically arid southeast part, whose main core is Calahorra, and where youwill find some of the largest dinosaur prints in Europe.

TRITIUM - LA RIOJA

Personalized wine tasting experience, the visitor learns about details and curiosities of the wine, experiencing directly under the tutoring of the descendants of the original owners. This building keeps the charm of its first years more than 500 years ago.

Stunning and outstanding are some of the common adjective describing this Gothic cathedral, the imposing building is the highlight of Burgos and for valid reasons. Inside and outside, the building is an icon among the cathedrals in Spain and Europe, because the beauty and detail in all its parts.

YSIOS - ALAVA

TIERRA RAPAZ - LA RIOJA

A symbol in the wine industry in this region, where a magnificent infrastructure, landscape, personal and wine will amaze visitors. The building was designed by the famous architect Calatrava creating a different aura to the other wineries.

Tierra Rapaz is a thematic and educational birds of prey center/sanctuary. The shows are educational and offer scientific demonstrations about this world. Performances include eagles, falcons, vultures and many species more. Shows are only in Spanish, but enjoyable anyway.

MANZANOS AZAGRA – LA RIOJA

URBASA-ANDIA PARK - ALAVA

Located in a privileged environment, full of history and where nature is present at all times, Bodegas Manzanos is designed to enjoy the views, taste the traditional food and wines of the area and share pleasant and unforgettable moments.

Penedés D.O. are generally very fruity and fresh, while others full-bodied, aromatic and intense in color. In addition, many wineries also offer of the flagship, Cava D.O. (bubbly) of exceptional quality, a wine recognized throughout the world. There are also unique local grapes like thewhite Parellada and Xarello and the red Monastrell and Samsó.

A pioneer cellar in the production of organic wines, they put the focus on recovering ancient vines and use them for modern wines. The tour is informative and enjoyable. The small city center of Burgos is a pleasure to see. Visitors can get a glimpse of how the city was in the past and its evolution. The warmth of locals and the simple, but captivating scenery will be worth the visit.

ST. SATURIO HERMITAGE - SORIA

DOURO VALLEY (SORIA)

This emblematic building built into the rocky hill in front of the Duero River and surrounded by nature can take the visitor back in time and offer a magnificent view of the area. The enchanting hermitage has caves, passages and stain-glass windows that are completely different from most of the other religious buildings in Spain.

It is not an individual winery, but a group of small producers in Duruelo de la Sierra that not only focus in the wine industry, but it offers a holistic experience. Visitors can enjoy the vineyards, boat trips, spa days and other activities.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SCULPTURE - VALLADOLID

The National Museum of Sculpture is one of the most important European museums on this discipline because of the quality of its col- lection, ranging from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, additionally multiple artist, materials and expositions.

Splendid building designed by architect Nor- man Foster where the visitor gets to see the process and curiosities the wine industry. There is an acclaimed restaurant in the Winery where people can drink and taste wine produced by Portia and get to knowmore about the industry.

The most praised are: Cobo Vintage in Burgos, while Villena in Segovia would be the best option. At the same time Baluarte is the option to go in Soria and last, but not least Trigo in Valladolid.

VICTORIA BEACH - CADIZ

It is a symbol in the region and a reference for the sherry and brandy production. It focuses mainly on the production and history of the brand, however it is quite enjoyable and informative, plus the visitor can taste the product and understand every step of the process.

A long wide-white sand beach stretching as far as the eye can see in either direction and fringed by a large selection of beach bars and beach fronted dining facilities and bordered with an extremely calm sea.

EQUESTRIAN CULTURE - CADIZ

LUSTAU (JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA)

Horses are part of the idiosyncrasy of Cadiz, visitors can appreciate this in the Horse Fair that takes place during the last week of April. Hundreds of horses and thousands of locals dressed in traditional outfits walking around and enjoying the festivities or visiting the Roy- al Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, which performs all year round.

This winery route revolves around the cre- ative process and the production of Sherry and other kind of wines. This centenarian winery preserves the wine making tradition adding in- novative methods that will appear in the tour.
