Bringing Credibility, Trust, and Value

CDRF is Valuable to the Dairy Industry

CDRF’s Structure • Independent organization that is overseen by a Board, which is largely made up of California dairy producers. • Third-party status increases the organization’s credibility and respect within the industry, and within research and regulatory communities. • Ability to provide a science-based reference point with various entities such as regulators, courts, and others. CDRF’s Lineage • Supported California-specific industry programs, such as the California Dairy Quality Assurance Program (CDQAP), Dairy CARES, and scientific research projects that have been of critical importance to the industry’s sustainability. CDRF founded CDQAP in 1998 and has managed it since that time. • Established long-standing collaborations with regional, national, and international organizations such as Dairy Management Inc., National Dairy Board, U.S. Dairy Export Council, International Milk Genomics Consortium (IMGC), International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics, International Dairy Federation, and others. • Has a long standing lineage and institutional knowledge that allows business continuity without interruption.

CDRF’s Research Management Knowledge and Effectiveness • All projects are unique, relevant, and complementary to national and international programs. • Understands scientific research, and how to manage multifaceted projects effectively and efficiently. • Uses best research management practices to ensure that producers’ investments provide positive economic returns: Peer review, planned benefit, and benefit-cost ratio analyses. • It is estimated that CDRF past projects have generated a return of $12 on every dollar invested.
