CONCLUSIONS

A summary of SMPR Method Performance Requirements for repeatability (RSDr) and reproducibility (RSDR) is shown below. Those study materials and analytes failing to meet SMPR requirements are designated in Red font. SRM 2384 Baking Chocolate, SRM Lake Superior Fish Tissue, ERM-BD 150 Milk Powder, Apple Juice Concentrate and SRM SRN 1568 Rice Flour all meet all SMPR requirements. The Infant Formula QC Material did not meet all the requirements of the SMPR as denoted below. As a follow up the author of the Infant Formula QC was contacted on the homogeneity of the study material. Further studies conducted by the author indicated much improved RSD’s when tested using a slurry preparation technique. Based on this information the Infant Formula QC material as tested may not have the sufficient homogeneity to meet the requirements of the SMPR.
