EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION GUIDE

The ACM, consultant or field service consultant must agree these conditions are met, or will be met prior to equip ment arrival, before release of kitchen equipment is given. If any of the conditions are not met, release of equipment is not given and the ACM will notify the KES of the anticipate changes to scheduled delivery. Conditions that are not met when kitchen equipment arrives on site will result in additional time or handling of equipment. Any additional charges that result in this additional time or handling will be invoiced to the owner operator. The owner operator can discuss with the region their responsibility to pay for such additional work.

The ACM and the GC will inspect the building and site for confirmation it is ready to accept equipment. Prior to equipment release for delivery, the general contractor and its subcontractors must meet all the following conditions:

1. Parking Lot – a paved parking lot is preferred. At a minimum compacted base course must be installed. 2. Sidewalks and Ramps – must be completed in the area where access to the kitchen for equipment delivery will be made. If this is not fully complete, the GC will be responsible for supplying and installing an access surface capable of holding up to 1,000 lbs. prior to delivery. This surface will run from the parking lot surface to the building floor slab. If this is not fully completed the GC will be responsible to provide a material handling device (lull) and operator to assist in unloading equipment into the restaurant. 3. Doorways and Building Access – a minimum of one 4’ 0 wide service door is required for equipment arrival. The building must be fully enclosed with permanent doors and windows, with finish hardware and be lockable. 4. Interior Painting – any required painting within the kitchen and storage areas must be complete. 5. Wall Finishes – all walls within the kitchen area, storage areas, and the self-serve beverage station area must have completed finishes (ceramic tile or FRP) and the substrate sheathing must have all plywood installed in accordance with the building plans. 6. Floor Finishes – all quarry tile flooring and base must be completed including applicable acid washing. Must be completed prior to stainless steel equipment being delivered. 7. Plumbing – all plumbing rough in work shall be complete and inspected. Any contractor furnished plumbing finish fixtures must be installed in the kitchen. Permanent water to the building must be installed and functioning. Hot and cold water must be available. All gas piping must be completed. 8. HVAC – all heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems must be installed, inspected and functioning. All ceiling supply diffusers and exhaust grilles within the kitchen and storage areas must be complete. 9. Electrical – all electrical rough in work shall be complete and inspected. All electrical devises in the kitchen must be installed. All ceiling lights must be installed and operational. Permanent power to the building must be installed and functioning (exception: when this is not possible due to local municipality policies, codes or when delayed by utility companies. The general contractor and the electrical contractor will be responsible to supply a generator of sufficient size to power the entire building) to the site, and connect it to the building. 10.Housekeeping – The kitchen shall be “broom clean”. Only a minimal amount of stored building material is acceptable within the kitchen and storage areas. The general contractor must immediately remove and relocate any materials stored in the kitchen and storage areas that the KES installer advises are in the way of equipment installation. The GC is responsible to supply and empty as needed, designated dumpster to the KES installer for removal of debris and boxes associated with the equipment delivery. 11. Ceilings – all ceilings in the kitchen and storage areas must be completed as follows: - Drywall Ceilings – taped, sanded, primed and painted. - Acoustical ceilings – all ceiling grid must be installed, ceiling tiles must be installed at the boarders to lock the grid in place. All other ceiling tile is to be installed after all kitchen equipment is installed. 12. Self Serve Beverage Area – The area to house the SSB must be fully finished and ready for equipment. This includes floors, base wall, finish carpentry items and ceilings. Work similar to notes 4 through 11 above.
