EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION GUIDE

13. Corian Serving Countertop – If supplied by the decor company or the general contractor, this counter top must be installed. Temporary blocking to support the top is mandatory. The KES will install the stainless steel wing walls and remove the temporary blocking. 14.Walk in Box – the area where the WIB will be installed will be complete and ready for equipment. All walls and floors including any thermal break. The general contractor is responsible for receiving, accepting and inspecting the WIB. If panels will be sorted outdoors, the contractor should place the panels on 2x4’s to keep the panels off of the ground in case of rain. The panels should be arranged vertically on their ends. The contractor should cover all panels with visqueen or another plastic film to prevent moisture build up. Any damage on the bill of lading will make the general contractor liable for any such damage. The GC is responsible for proper on site storage, protection and security of the WIB and related equipment. 15. Denstor or KES Shelving – must be fully installed prior to equipment arrival. The GC is to have the area ready for the shelving and coordinate installation with the Denstor or the KES installing crew. If backroom shelving is unable to be installed prior to equipment deliver, the GC or O/O will be respon sible to provide a secure area for storage of smallwares and associated components. Once shelving is erected the GC or O/O will be responsible to re-locate smallwares and associated components to the erected shelving. KES Installer 1. Supervise the unloading and set up of as much equipment as possible in its permanent location to eliminate double handling and to expedite the installation. 2. Check for major shortages or damage as equipment is being unloaded so that it maybe reported and corrected before installation is completed. 3. Small packages, miscellaneous and smaller equipment is to be set in one location, usually the stockroom. 4. Ensure all packing debris and boxes are broken down flat and placed into the dumpster on site. Coordinate with the GC as to which dumpster to use. General Contractor 1. Provide an opening in the building (minimum 4 ft.) that will accommodate the receivingof equipment. This may mean the removal of a window, door casing or stair railing, if necessary. 2. Provide a solid surface capable of holding equipment upwards of 1,000 lbs. to ensure safe offloading of equipment. A temporary surface to the rear kitchen door or other point of entry is required if permanent sidewalk or landing is not yet completed. 3. Special sites may require removal of windows, door systems or partition walls. 4. See that they and their sub-contractors do not damage any of the equipment that hasbeen provided by the KES. Claims of damage will be recorded with the ACM. 5. Ensure proper wall backing is provided for all wall mounted equipment; hoods, shelving, menu boards, sinks, filet freezers, etc. Refer to Architectural drawing for detail. Unloading & Receiving
