WEB CLIENT (FEATURES) The Web Client can be used within the Mech Works PDM environment, extending the application’s reach to additional departments. Features include:

WEB CLIENT (USAGES) The Web Client is the premier solution to selectively publish the desired database records and associated files to both internal and external business partners (world-wide). The Web Client supports the advanced enterprise security to authenticate the user’s specific access rights (view, print, download, modify, contribute). The User Rights Manager provides advanced security and allows for the implementation of “Class Documents” to accommodate individual and document specific rights. The Web Client supports connections to either the Production database (where files are being modified) or the Released Only database (which contains only released files) to control secured access based on the user’s overall needs. Engineering support personnel frequently access data from the Production database while Manufacturing and Purchasing personnel are typically accessing data from the Released Only database. Based on the user’s login, the Web Client can be configured to control access to revision history as well as access to filtered file types (example: only released PDF files vs. access to native CAD files). Based on the user’s login, the Web Client supports the need for on-demand PDF, DWG, and DXF file generation of various file formats as well as the ability to download the registered engineering files.

WEB CLIENT (EASE) The Web Client provides users (purchasing departments, document control, shop floor, etc.) a cost-effective method of accessing the Mech Works database. The Web Client’s intuitive interface and small installation footprint make it an application that requires minimum support and virtually no training.
