Matt Cohen photo Bareback rider Trenten Montero registered an 87.5-point ride on Korkow Rodeos’ Onion Ring to capture the victory at the St. Paul (Ore.) Rodeo for the first time in his career.

COWBOY CHRISTMAS Rogers/Bray capture team roping crown Erich Rogers and Paden Bray were at their best in St. Paul. The duo had a 10.3-second time to win the two-head average. “Roping with Erich is unlike anything I’ve ever felt,” said Bray, 20. “We rodeo and jackpot like we practice. It’s the same consistent go every single time. He’s so smooth and consistent and spins steers every time the same.” Rogers, the 2017 PRCA Team Roping Header World Champion, teamed up with Bray for the first time in Logandale, Nev., in April. Rogers was 15th in the July 9 world standings and Bray was 24th. Bray was leading the PRCA | Resistol Rookie Standings for Team Roping Heeler.
