Masters and Harrison win historic Reno Rodeo Got it Done BY MATT NABER T eam ropers Chad Masters and Joseph Harrison had won numerous major ProRodeo competitions, but Reno’s coveted Silver Spurs had alluded them until June 29 when they won the average by one-tenth of a second with 17.3 seconds on three head. “I’ve been here 17 times and been second twice, but it never came through,” Masters said. “It’s something I know for dang sure will mean a lot to me.” Masters has made 12 trips to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo since his rookie year in 2001 and won the world title in 2007 and 2012. Harrison has qualified the last two consecutive years since beginning his ProRodeo career in 2007. “In 2017, I was here with Charly Crawford and we won the second round,” Harrison said. “Then last year was my second time here, and we (Masters and Harrison) won the first round, so I told Chad on the way here I’m going to win this rodeo, it’s my destiny.” The duo came into the 100th edition of the Reno Rodeo with guns
