Take it slow… HAPPY FEBRUARY!

Thank you to the Romans for their mid- February fertility celebrations, which

were the pre-Valentine’s Day celebrations. In an effort to

Christianize these celebrations, the Catholic Church began celebrating these events. By the mid 1300’s, February 14 was associated with “love” as it was thought 2/14 was the beginning of birds mating season. Fast forward to today, and celebrate Valentine’s Day with Chocolate Lava Cake and ice cream! Chocolate is still the favorite flavor for Valentine’s Day. With this simple Chocolate Lava Cake, you can spend your time making dinner or return home from eating out to a warm, yummy dessert. Remember to pick up some ice cream to partner with this chocolaty goodness.

1. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, eggs and oil. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Transfer to a greased or crock pot liner 4qt. slow cooker. 2.
