Lower investment, faster production

The Triple Twist process, a Gauder Group patented solution since 2001, allows 40-50 per cent higher production speed from lower investment while offering improved cable quality compared with conventional LAN pairing lines. It is the best industry standard for Cat 5/6/7 LAN cable production. With some 200 Triple Twist twinning lines sold, Setic, a member of the Gauder Group, remains the leader in the LAN cable pairing field. Thousands of kilometres of cable have been manufactured on these machines in the major LAN cable manufacturers’ plants worldwide. Setic equipment offers all the benefits of backtwist technology, combined with the advantages of the world-famous ‘DVD 560’ (twin vertical double backtwist pay-off ): stabilised impedance and superior consistency, hydraulic loading platform and pneumatic pintles for easy reel handling, continuous adjustment of backtwist rate from the operator’s control panel, integrated electrical cabinet, and stand alone equipment. The range includes the vertical ‘all-in-one’ Triple Twist pairing machine type ‘VTT 560’ enabling the production of Cat 5E pairs around 6,300 TPM (instead of 4,500 TPM on standard 560mm Double Twist

Setic also placed the Triple Twist pairing process on a one-step machine creating the ‘G3T 560’ model for twinning in one operation 4 (or ‘n’ as an option) pairs Cat 5/5E/6E and 7/8 from insulated wires, on the same line, speeding up to 6,000 TPM.

The same production result can be achieved by using double position pay-off for Triple Twist process type ‘DVD TT 560 R’ or ‘DHD TT 560’ located before an existing standard Double Twist machine. It increases running speed of 1,500 up to 2,200 TPM and allows production from

A very economic wire annealing furnace

The OFENBAU FRITZ furnaces are distinguished, among other things, by their low energy consumption. The continuous wire annealing furnace system ‘Becker-Fritz’ is the most economic furnace of its type, with a consumption of ~150.000-190.000kcal/t of production. All the heat is given to the wires; the waste gases enter the chimney with only ~250°C. The heating equipment, even on the bigger furnaces, encompasses only 3-4 burners (= low-cost regulation and control). By comparing consumption data, the amount of energy that may be saved can be estimated. Assuming 170.000kcal/t for the ‘Becker-Fritz’ furnace and 220.000kcal/t for the other annealing furnace, on a plant with an output of 3t/h, 7.200 working hours per year = 50.000kcal saved per ton of produced wire = 150.000kcal saved each hour = 1.080.000.000kcal saved during one year This corresponds to ~100.000kg of natural gas or 1.200.000kwh. OFENBAU FRITZ has supplied this type of furnace for 50 wires and an output of 6.000kg/h. Individual channels allow producing low carbon wires of di erent tensile strengths in one furnace (~40kg/mm² and 60-70kg/mm², also supplied for ~40kg/mm² and 90 100kg/mm²). By adopting the required wire height and pitch, the furnace can be installed in existing lines.
