3137 自蒼悟往美國 From Tsangwu to USA

A cover mailed to Philadelphia from Tsangwu on 1st December 1949. It was franked with one 50 fen and one 10 fen Revenue Surcharge into Basic stamp and one Domestic Unit stamp. The total value of 65 fen on cover was consistent with postage for double weight international airmail. The letter transited through Canton on 12th December. In fact, after the liberation of Luichow and Canton (on 1949.11.25 and 1949.10.14) airmail service were no longer available to the two cities. Presumably, this letter was delivered by surface to Canton then to Hong Kong where it could obtain airmail service to the U.S. 所示的實寄封是1949年12月1日由蒼悟寄美國費城，貼印花加蓋基數郵票50分、10分各1枚，另貼平信單位1枚，郵實總值 65分，符合其時國際航空加重郵資, 該信於12月5日抵達廣卅。查實柳卅和廣州改它們的解放日以來(即11月25日和10月14 日) 已無空郵服務，此信應似是以平郵運抵廣卅後, 轉往香港, 然後空郵往美國。​ HK$ 18,000 - 22,000
