The Post Liberation usage of Half Value Yunnan Silver Yuan - The Chensiung Pair On 5th October 1949 the Yunnan District Post Office announced the use of Silver Yuan postage rates. This effectively abolished the Yunnan half value Silver Yuan stamps. The General Post Office (then already relocated to Chungking) shipped East Szechwan Silver Yuan stamps to Yunnan to cope with this change. Yunnan half value Silver Yuan postage covers in liberated Yunnan are therefore rare. Less than five are recorded.
