Lay Responders

Medically Trained, Professional and First Responders

What level of training do your responders have?

AED/CPR Certified

 ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)  BLS (Basic Life Support)

No formal AED/CPR training

Will your responders require an ECG/EKG display?

The AED 3 is a better option for untrained rescuers. Trained responders will also benefit from AED 3 enhanced features but depending on their level of comfort, training or price sensitivity, may find the AED Plus adequate

If no ECG/EKG is needed – Use Lay-responder device

Do you have responders with current certifications on CPR and the use of an AED?  Will they always be the person responding to an emergency?  Is it likely or possible that an untrained person could respond?

Wil your responders require Manual defibrillation capabilities?

Both can use CaseReview or CodeReview – WiFi on the AED 3 BLS offers a convenience advantage

All come with basic ECG capability. The addition of Defib Dashboard provides “real-time” numeric data on CPR performance. See-thru CPR filters out compression artifact allowing the rescuer to see the underlying heart rhythm. Ability to deliver a shock manually by the operator. Only done by ALCS trained users. All ZOLL AEDs use a child specific analysis algorithm. The AED Plus and Pro use separate 2 year pediatric pads. 5 year Uni-padz that can be used on adults or children. Pediatric CPR Feedback. Enables configuration and data downloads. USB is faster & less completed than IrDA. WiFi adds additional data transfer convenience & also enables remote monitoring of device readiness CaseReview and CodeReview software is available for all ZOLL AEDs.
