NEW NAME OF LAMPS BUSINESS ANNOUNCED

O SRAM, one of the world’s leading lighting manufacturers, continues to make pro- gress with the ‘carve-out’ of its general lighting lamps business. After the supervisory board of OSRAM Licht AG approved the ‘carve-out’ of the unit in June 2015, the name of the new company was decided. “We opted for a combination of the terms ‘LED’ and ‘advance’ and will call the newly es- tablished company LEDVANCE,” says Olaf Berlien,

NEW GENERAL MANAGER APPOINTED

Wimpie Ludwick

BEKA Schréder, Africa’s leading manufacturer of LED luminaires and glass fibre reinforced polyester poles, is pleased to announce the appointment of Wimpie Ludwick as its new general manager. Ludwick, who first started with BEKA in 1995, held various positions within the company and region, be- ing the market development manager for Australia and New Zealand and the national sales manager for the past three years. He has officially succeeded Carl Watson, who has been appointed as chief regional officer for Schréder IMEA. “It is an exciting time to become a leader of an organisation that is in the forefront of LED luminaire design and manufacture in the African continent,” says Ludwick. “Despite the challenging economic climate, BEKA Schréder is enabling technologies that allow its customers to have more control of their applications and environments.
