Addressing the challenges of LED lighting THE brightness levels of today’s LEDs are open- ing the door for the use of LEDs in general light- ing applications that require high lumen output levels. Building an LED-based luminaire poses a new set of technical challenges, among them new optical requirements, providing adequate thermal management for stable operation and dealing with the ever-improving performance of LEDs. Nevertheless, LED technology also offers an unknown wealth of possibilities, providing access to unprecedented levels of performance and newways of integration. OSRAM’s PrevaLED family of LED light engines • Master/slave interface: to control up to five slave luminaires on one master luminaire. Products benefits • Optimal design for low profile luminaires with high uniformity. • High systemefficacy up to 123 lumen per watt and simple thermal management. • High reliability through overheating protec- tion. • Touch protection accessory for ‘LEDifying’ of existing luminaires. Areas of applications • Corridors, stairways, entrance ways. • Hospitality: hotels, restaurants. • Public, commercial and office buildings. • Secondary rooms: garages, storage. Technical features • Rated luminous flux: typically 1 500 lumen, 2 300 lumen and 2 500 lumen. • Light colours: warm white (3 000 kelvin), cool white (4 000 kelvin). • Colour rendering index: typically 83. • Diameters: 170 and 240 mm. • Operation with mains voltage: 220 – 240 V; 50/60 Hz. addresses the challenges of LED-based lighting while providing users with great performance and flexibility at the same time. Enabled by the application of LED technology, PrevaLED aims to push the envelope of what is possible in terms of performance and simplicity. The PrevaLED Flat AC series of light engines is ideally suited for use in highly diffuse wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted luminaires in decorative, hospitality or domestic applications. OSRAMPrevaLED Flat AC PrevaLED Flat AC light engines have been developed for decorative diffuse luminaires that can be used in demand- ing traffic way applications in buildings that require functions such as emergency lighting. It is the first range of LED engines specifically designed tomeet all necessary requirements for such traffic way applica- tions in buildings: • Power-on-board: for simple integration as well as novel thin luminaires. • L-EM (local emergency) and C-EM (cen- tral emergency): for local and central emergency operation. Cost-effective third generation LED light engine TRIDONIC has launched the third generation of the TALEXXengine Stark SLE LED light engine – more cost-effective andmore efficient. Genera- tion three provides up to 80% higher luminous flux, greater efficiency under real-life conditions (up to 125 lm/W at 4 000 K) and better hot lumen efficiency (up to Tp = 85 °C). Even after 50 000 hours of operation the third generation achieves a life of up to L90. At the same time the modules are matched to the new Eco andTop series of TALEXXconverters and together constitute an optimum system. With the new LEDmodule, Tridonic is present- ing itself as a competent system supplier for professional lighting solutions based on chip-on- board (COB) light sources. Thanks to a new COB design with improved thermal properties, more efficient LED chips and perfect matching with the appropriate converters, the Classic, Select and Mini modules achieve even greater efficiency at lower costs. Up to 4 800 lumen can now be emitted from a LES 19 (light emitting surface). There is also a new operatingmode for the Classic and Select modules, known as best LED opera- tion (BLO). This ensures an ideal balance between efficiency, lifetime and costs. The lumen package is automatically configured when the LEDmodule is connected to the converter. The luminous flux remains constant at all times, even if the colour temperature changes. Enquiries: +27 11 923 9686
