Max Mara Atelier

Fashion director Laura Lusuardi has been with Max Mara for more than 50 years so she knows a thing or two about coats. Lusuardi used all of her experience and knowledge to develop her new coat collection, Max Mara Atelier. Handmade by craftsmen in Italy, collection of 13 pieces includes chic capes, voluminous coats inspired by the archives and jewel-toned fur accents. It is has limited distribution in America – New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The red alpaca coat with fox collar ($3,990) makes a strong statement, while the camel-colored, double-face cashmere coat with fox paneling ($6,090) updates a classic Max Mara camel coat with the rich and unexpected details on the front. Worn with the wool crepe 1970s-leg pant, the monochrome look is anything but boring. maxmara.com
