Value engineering was integrated into the entire project as a means to address the unexpected costs during renovations and to ensure the final solution was highly efficient and within their budget constraints. This new space accommodates 600 employees, offers its call center employees huddle and break-out rooms as well as a conference center which provides flexibility for training. In addition, the space offers a game room, break room and a quiet room for when employees need undisturbed space to themselves. This project also included a new bank of women’s toilets to accommodate the predominately female staff and keep productivity high. Ultimately, this new facility allows sufficient growth for the company as well as provides a comfortable place for employees to work.

Looking to move from their existing space which was inefficiently laid out and “generic” in design, JRS worked closely with this client to assess their true space needs, accounting for future growth and features to increase employee engagement and satisfaction. From the interviews conducted with each department, JRS developed a Program Summary, capturing their needs and requirements. This document became a critical input as the client evaluated build-to-suit and existing facilities. It was also key in assessing the budget which was a major driving force for this non- profit organization. After evaluating several locations and options, the client purchased an existing two story 60,000 square foot building for the relocation of their call center, fulfillment area and headquarters office.
