Fresh Water Water is supplied from hydrants in the Free Port and in some places in the Customs Port. Otherwise water boats are available for supplying fresh water in the harbour and in the roads. For prices see page 93. Ballast Ballast is supplied by steam sand-barges and can also be discharged at reasonable rates. For prices see page 95. Ashes and Refuse The Port Authority undertakes, upon request from ships, the removal of ashes and refuse at reasonable rates. Docks and Repairs Several shipyards in Copenhagen have first class facilities for building, repairing and cleaning vessels of all types. Burmeister and Wain’s Engineering and Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., in the outer harbour opposite the Free Port have: 3 Floating Dry Docks 1 Graving Dock No. 1. 13,600 tons. Vessels up to 500 ft.
