Time to ‘have a go’ at the show

AT this year’s show, you’ll find many great demonstrations, displays and spectacular shows for all the family to enjoy. But hidden among the main attractions, you will find some real gems for you to ‘have-a-go’. n Fancy finding out what it’s like driving an enormous combine harvester? Then head over to the Food & Farming Zone where one will be on display for kids (and adults) to n Test your physical strength with an assault course on the military stand or find out what some of their equipment feels like. The kids can even dress up like a soldier. n Ever wondered what its like being a blacksmith? Come and help make poker sticks with the professionals and even watch them mould iron into a themed shape. n Have a buzzing time in the brand new Bee & Honey Tent, which will be offering lots of fun activities such as candle- rolling, explore a live bee hive, badge making and even take the Queen Bee kids quiz. n Have a bale of a time in the fun Activity Zone. Chldren can enjoy slides, play hide and seek in hay bales and cruise around in mini tractors, plus much more. experience first-hand how simple, or complex, it is to control and manoeuvre.

HEROS education

RENOWNED within the racing industry for its success in the retraining and rehoming of ex-racehorses, HEROS Charity has opened its doors to those wishing to train and develop themselves to work within the racing and wider equestrian sector. Beginning in 2016, HEROS Education has quickly grown to meet the demand for high-quality, learner centric education, which can provide the stepping stone for individuals who wish to work within the horseracing industry or the advanced skill sets for those already working within the industry, who wish to progress their careers. HEROS Education is based at North Farm Stud on the Oxfordshire/Berkshire border and students have access to the whole range of outstanding facilities that the stud has to offer. With a team of highly-qualified and specialised tutors, HEROS Education has overseen the training of many fantastically committed learners with inspirational outcomes for many of those completing our courses. Courses on offer: n Pre-16 Education * 1st4sport Entry Level Award in Assisting with the Basic Care of Horses (Entry 2) 1st4sport Entry Level Award in Catching and Leading, Grooming and Rugging up a Horse (Entry 3) 1st4sport Entry Level Award in Basic Knowledge of the

Apprenticeship (18 months) *pre-16 education must be either privately contracted or run in partnership with the learners’ school provision.
