Music and CICA

The Chebeague Island Community Association (CICA) promotes a sustainable, year-round community on Chebeague through its efforts regarding affordable housing and local agriculture, and through cultural events, especially music. There will be a series of musical events in the coming months. Current venues include the Church, the Island Hall, and theWilsons’ house at 81 Spruce Point View Road. July 9 Novel Jazz Group at the Church, 7:00–9:00 p.m. July 19 Raw Bar Collective at the Wilsons’, 7:00–9:00 p.m.

August 11 Darol Anger at the Wilsons’, 7:00–10:00 p.m. August 14 David Reed at the Wilsons’, 7:00–10:00 p.m. August 20 Island Music Night at the Hall, 6:30–11:30 p.m.

The list is still growing, so check the Event Calendar at www.chebeague.org often for additions and changes! Also, check out the various artists on the Web. All are welcome to these shows. To help keep the music coming, there is a suggested donation at the door. Such donations, gratefully received on behalf of CICA’s Music Fund, help cover the costs of bringing performers to the island.

Martha Hamilton’s Treasure Box Arts and Crafts Swap We will be offering kits, components, and unfinished projects from all the arts, including quilting, rughooking, music, woodworking, knitting, crocheting, and we hope to use the proceeds to fund projects close to Martha’s heart. We are still looking for donations to add to the sale. Call Sam McLean (846-0510) or Lisa Tucker (847-7944) for more information and to have your donations picked up. Kids have their own area, including treasure box filled with martha’s costumes for dress up and mermaid cutout for selfies.
