HOW TO PREPARE

THE SOLuTION

• Wash resin from knots and surface contaminants using lacquer thinners • Allow timber to dry thoroughly • Sand timber with 150 grit and finish using 220 grit, sanding in the direction of the grain (Obtain a smooth even finish and dust off) • Seals knots with one or two coats of Plascon Woodcare Knot Seal (PK2) • For a varnished, sealed or oiled finish apply chosen Plascon Woodcare product to surface directly • Thin 1 st coat of chosen Woodcare product - 30% for hard wood, or 20% for soft wood (See back of pack for details) • For a painted finish apply one coat of Plascon Wood Primer (uC2) before chosen top coat Re-varnishing • Wash surface with Polycell Sugar Soap solution, rinse with tap water allow to dry and sand to a matt finish with 220 grit paper (obtain a smooth even finish and dust off) • Recoat with a chosen Plascon Woodcare Varnish Re-painting • Wash surface with Polycell Sugar Soap solution, rinse with tap water allow to dry and sand to a matt finish with 220 grit paper (obtain a smooth even finish and dust off) • Apply Plascon universal undercoat (uC 1) • Recoat with a chosen Plascon top coat Oiling / Sealing • Wash surface with Polycell Sugar Soap solution, rinse with tap water allow to dry and sand to a matt finish with 220 grit paper (obtain a smooth even finish and dust off) • Seal or oil with a chosen Plascon top coat Painted / Varnished surfaces • Coatings should be stripped to bare timber using RemovALL All Purpose Paint Remover (RRA 220) • Refer to uncoated wood for steps in achieving your desired finish Oiled surface • Scrub with Polycell Sugar Soap powder mixed in hot water • Rinse with water and allow to dry • Sand with 220 grit paper and dust off • Apply the chosen Plascon top coat finish
