THIS IS TO CERTIFY that the undersigned Surveyor did, on 14 September 2011, attend the launch, WOLVERINE STATE, Official No. 597342, while the vessel lay afloat at Morgan City, LA, in order to ascertain the general condition of the vessel and report as follows: GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The launch WOLVERINE STATE is an all welded, steel, hull constructed by Brown and Root, Inc. of Ingleside, TX in 1978. REGISTERED DESCRIPTION: Length: 47’; Breadth: 18’; Depth: 7.2’; Gross Tons: 42 HP: 340 The vessel is fitted with a full main deck with an accommodation house and machinery casing covering machinery and storage spaces below the main deck The main deck is protected with a bulwark extending from the bow, through both port and starboard sides and around the stern. The bulwark extends up from the deck 12” at the bow, port and starboard sides to 28” aft. The hull sides are protected by a segmented rubber piece assembled tube like fender located at the gunwale. The shell plating was examined as accessible with the vessel afloat and no significant damages were noted. A liferail was fitted to the deck house sides 44”from the deck forward and 46” from the deck aft in way of the machinery casing. An access ladder is installed on the main deck, forward, on centerline extending to the upper deck. DECK FITTINGS: One double bitt mooring was located in way of the after main deck on centerline. Two single bitt moorings were located port and starboard side aft of the deck house Two mooring winches were installed in way of the after main deck port and starboard sides. Two single bitt moorings were installed in way of the main deck forward of the house port and starboard sides. One double bitt mooring was located on the main deck forward on centerline. DECKHOUSE EXTERIOR: Located atop of the wheelhouse: A mast with navigation lights Three radio whip antenna One Furuno radar unit One Furuno GPS antenna Trumpet horns Two search lights Port and starboard side navigation lights Around the wheelhouse level upper deck is fitted a two tier pipe liferail, the lower tier 19” above the deck, the upper tier 38” above the deck. Lifering buoys are located port and starboard side of the liferails. A secondary steering station is located port side in way of the upper deck. The steering station in addition to a steering wheel is fitted with throttle controls. Aft of the wheelhouse section of the deckhouse is located a raised machinery casing.

The machinery casing sides are fitted with one portlight each side of the port and starboard sides. The machinery casing after bulkhead is fitted with port and starboard access doors, each 20” x 58”. Atop of the machinery casing are two tier liferails, the lower tier 19” above the deck, the upper tier 38” above the deck. The forward deckhouse is fitted with Crews quarters stateroom having a double bunk and attached forward head space having a toilet, shower and sink. The Quarters space interior is paneled in brown wood grained paneling and with a white laminated panel overhead. Aft of the Quarters sides are fitted port and starboard side windows. The space aft of the Quarters space is the galley. It is fitted with port and starboard side access doors, 24” x 60” each. The galley space interior is fitted with white laminated panels on bulkheads and a white overhead.

The Captains cabin interior is brown paneling bulkheads and a white laminate overhead. The wheelhouse interior is brown laminate paneling on the bulkheads and white overhead. The vessels deck coatings are gray and are 80% effective. The deckhouse exterior is red and 100% effective. MACHINERY:

The vessel is provided with Detroit Diesel Model 12-71 diesel engines. The starboard main engine was reported as being seized and inoperable Operating hour data for the main engines is not available. The engine room starboard side forward is fitted with two fire/bilge pumps. The port side and starboard side aft are provided with air compressors and air receivers. SURVEYORS COMMENTS: Based upon examination of the hull as accessible with the vessel afloat, internal spaces as accessible, this vessel is considered fit for its intended service, pending repairs to the starboard main engine.
