Clark Symington Sales Corner Featuring

I have been with Ex-Guard since the inception of the company in 2010 and was involved with the original product and design. When we took Ex-Guard to market I was the only person in sales and marketing and I traveled extensively meeting with OEM truck dealers and working to convince them that we had a product that they could be successful with. I would like to thank all of those dealers today for what they have done for Ex-Guard in helping take the product to market and introducing it to their customers. I often find myself looking back at those early years and the amount of energy and time it required to maintain contact with so many people. I still enjoy hearing from the parts managers and counter-persons who were among those original contacts. Like any successful entity, things have changed and continue to change here at Ex-Guard. We have added a lot of new, talented staff members in customer service, sales, marketing and production and I have seen my role evolve with time. I find it very satisfying and rewarding to share my experience and industry knowledge with our younger staff members, trying to help them avoid some of the mistakes and dead-ends

that I encountered along the way. I also like spending time strategizing with the salespersons when they are working through negotiations. Now that we have more members and departments to carry the load, I have been able to devote some time to things that I do for enjoyment. I spent the first 30 years of my life working on the family farm up in North Dakota, and as they say “you can take the boy away from the farm but you can’t take the farm away from the boy.” You guessed it, I spend most of my available free time feeding livestock and growing crops. It has been an incredible journey and I have been remarkably fortunate in the people that I have had to work with and work for along the way. Looking back, I realize how fast time goes and how much things change but I have no regrets and I am looking forward to the challenges of a new year!
