Greetings from the Mayor of the City of Hampton, Virginia! On behalf of my colleagues on City Council and the residents of the great City of Hampton, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the “2019 Ruritan National Convention” being held here in Hampton, Virginia. We are absolutely delighted that you chose Hamp- ton for your event. Hampton is a historic city that is over 400-years-old. We are the site of numerous firsts, including the site where the first astronauts trained for their missions into outer space and to the moon. Hampton is a warm, friendly place, and our citizens always enjoy the opportunity to share experi- ences with our visiting friends. While you are here, we hope that you will have the opportunity to avail yourselves of the rich history, attractions, restaurants and unique shopping opportunities that Hampton of- fers.
