The past seven years he has served on the American Baseball Coaches Association Editorial Committee; and has been an advisor with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He started an innovative peer mentoring program with hi s USF team. Dons players and coaching staff volunteered at the nearby Hamilton Commun ity Center, reading stories and playing games with homeless chil– dren. Furthermore, Hill is a speaker and clinician at various conventions and camps throughout the region. Hill earned his Bachelor ofArts degree (Physical Education) in 1984 from California Lutheran University. After playing one season with the St. Louis Cardinals organization in 1985 (Single A affiliate in Savannah, Georgia), he returned to his alma mater where he earned his Master of Science degree in Education in 1988 . Sean Kenny begins his fourth year at the University of San Diego on Head Coach Rich Hill 's staff. Besides being the Toreros pitching coach, Kenny is the program's recruiting coor– dinator. In 2001, Kenny was a key contributor to USD 's record setting season that saw the Toreros win 32 division one games. Kenny has helped Coach Hill amass 97 wins over three seasons at USD and in 2002 will oversee a pitching staff that includes a Baseball America preseason All– American in lefthander Ricky Barrett, and righty Tom Caple, who is Base– ball America :S projected WCC Player of the Year. Kenny pitched for three years at Eastern Michigan University, where he completed a Bachelor's degree in English Literature with a minor in coaching in 1997. Kenny was drafted by the Mets and played for three seasons in the New York system. No stranger to baseball in the West Coast Conference, Kenny be– gan his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Saint Mary 's Coll ege, where he worked with the Gaels pitching staff in 1996-97. In 1997-98 he served as pitching coach at Laney Community Coll ege. Kenny recently completed his Master's degree in Physical Education at Saint Mary's College. Kenny 's younger brother, Seth, also pitched for Eastern Michi– gan and currently is the pitching coach at Austin Peay State University.

Coach Rich Hill on Sean Kenny: Sean is one ofthe bright young coaches in today's college game. He has a great understanding ofthe recruiting game as well as being a superb pitching coach.
